Day 11 of Thanksgiving: Im joining the ranks of those thanking - TopicsExpress

Day 11 of Thanksgiving: Im joining the ranks of those thanking Veterans today. On Sunday, the first thing I saw when I turned on the TV with a cup of coffee, a segment on disabled/wounded Vets was on. Something about Band of Brothers - a group of wounded/disabled vets who had formed a band. As we live each day right in our own little communities, with our own vision of peace around us, its easy to forget what sacrifices the men and women who serve in the military actually make. With lost arms, legs, hands, eyes and even their lives, these men gave freely - remember, there isnt a draft these days - of themselves to stand up for our country and the freedoms we have. Not only am I thanking the Veterans who have, are and will serve, I am thanking the family members they left behind. Whether those soldiers came home or not, those family members also sacrificed their lives for this country by sending a loved one off to war not knowing what the result might be. So when you thank that Veteran sitting in a wheelchair, thank the woman standing beside/behind him. When you say thank you to a Vet wearing a hat or cap signifying his service, thank those who are around him. For everything that I have the freedom to do today, I thank them all! (Thanks Daddy!) Thank you Lord for your blessings on me! Blessings I do not deserve.
