Day 13!! Half way through and almost at half the fundraising target too.. were over the £400 mark! Absolutely amazing... Huge thanks to the ever lovely Evangeline Langford, Gloria Bowles, Joshua Flatt and for his second donation Tim Ellis!! Its really encouraging in the moments of gloom and hunger rumbles to know people are supporting me. So cant say enough - Thank you all! Had another round of vaccinations this afternoon, so on the way back from Bath stopped off at a Sainsburys for convenience sake. Bought a tin of own brand beans and some tinned tomatoes, so not much different from some of last weeks buys. Managed to barter a bit of a bargain on the tomatoes because the tin was dented so paid 24p rather than 35p, small victories. Donated this time to the Bath Food Bank, I could have kept hold of the goods and dropped them off at a Fair Frome one but that felt somewhat elitist. After all who cares where someone lives, if they need help they need it. The Bath Food Bank actually had a notice asking for donations of fruit and sugar in particular, which I only saw after having bought the savoury tins! But if any one shops in the area its worth remembering. My right arm is a bit dead after the latest injections so going to try to keep this shortish... typing is proving a bit of a task. Im half way through the fast, a point I barely believed Id reach, having said that, and knowing how protracted this last 13 days has felt Im feeling somewhat dubious about the next 13 to come. Your support is really encouraging, it reminds me that Im not standing alone for these causes, that the people around me are full of kindness and spirit. Its very isolating being on a fast, it creates a veil between you and others. For many reasons, physically, emotionally and socially - food is a social thing, its something we share. The smallest moments of this people barely notice day to day, but trust me its a cold island having to step back from the community food creates.
