Real mates dont make sobriety a chore. We chatted about loads of stuff, and I have so much to talk about over the coming days. People change. Socially, physically and emotionally. You can rely on your best friends to tell you that. Losing a close friendship is as difficult an emotional experience as any other and I can speak from experience. Dont forget why youre mates with those people. The ways they make you feel; worthwhile and appreciated, are feelings only true mates can conjure. Right now, no matter what situation youre in, drop your mates a line and arrange to chill. Go for a beer. Even just have a quick phone call. When the shit hits, itll be your mates that make you smile first. Peace.
