Day 16 - Hello Ladies I want to encourage you. Keep up the great work. Even if your spouse is not responding the way you desire, know that the efforts you are making are not going unnoticed by God! When a farmer plants a seed, it may be some time before he sees anything on the surface; however, the seed is going through a change as the soil and water play its part. The farmer can’t give up on the seed and dig it up. He can’t neglect the seed either. Instead he must patiently tend to it “expecting” that what he desires shall come. He stakes his livelihood on the return. So it is with your mate. The seed of your effort is going in. His ground may be a little hardened, but keep watering it. Water changes things. So does the word. Go get your wedding picture. Pull out the video. Go through the album. Reconnect to that day. The happiness of it. How you felt then. How hopeful you were about your future. Play your wedding song, or a song that’s become your favorite, that reminds you of him. Make it your ringtone. Post a picture the two of you are in from your wedding day or any event that means a lot to you somewhere. Put it on your mirror, refrigerator, on your desk, some place you’re sure to see it. Look at it daily and determine to stay connected to hope. God has a plan for your marriage. Know that each day you are in my prayers and remember to pray for one another as well. Have a very blessed day! On to today’s challenge. ________________________________ Day Sixteen: And the LORD God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him. Genesis 2:18 God says that it is not good for man to be alone. But the way some women criticize their mates, the husbands may long for solitude. Be careful today not to criticize your mate, but look for ways to encourage him personally and publicly. Speaking of communication, does your husband communicate with you? God has made you a companion and helper for your husband, and part of being one flesh with him is the privilege of sharing and discussing personal needs and concerns. Thank God for that wonderful gift. Thank your husband for communicating with you. If your spouse does not communicate as you wish, look for ways that he communicates that are normal for him - smiling at you, nodding his head, even a pleasant grunt! - and then thank him for letting you know that he cares. Perhaps he needs to be lovingly taught how to communicate. Be patient with him...and listen when he does speak. Day 16 Prayer Pray that your husband will choose healthy, God-honoring activities. Pray that he will not live in bondage to any questionable habits or hobbies, but that he will experience freedom in holiness as he yields to the Spirit’s control. (1 Cor. 6:12, 10:31; 2 Tim. 2:4) Lisa
