Day 174-Stand Up and Be Your Own Person? We closed yesterday with the entering into the complexity of life and to do this one must be free from all attachments? Did you do it? Were you able to go into it and find out for yourself? This means being tied to anything your concepts, idea, family, car, truck, anything. When you are tied to something when you are attached to a particular religion, to a particular method of thought, to a particular form of meditation that very commitment brings corruption. Therefore a mind that is committed to something, taking sides, believing cannot possibly enter or discover something or bring about itself to be transformed. One knows that this might be very difficult to accept because every human being what to be committed to something, he or she feels safe in that commitment, to have a leader or a particular system. So if you become attached to any person obviously the corruption begins because in that attachment there is fear, hate and desires. Similarly if you are attached to a symbol, idea, image and belief corruption is inevitable. One of the factors of this corruption is authority. The writer knows that you are where ever you are reading or listening to this but is there any kind of communication going us between us? Are we meeting at-all? Is there any kind of observation of the common factor together? Do we both see not only intellectually and verbally but also actually as a fact. Can we see the facts in our selves that as long as we are committed, attached, tied to something a person, a belief, a concept and so on there must be conflict? So do we see this as a fact? If the writer was committed to the idea that he is a Black American see what takes place? Or a catholic, protestant, Hindu, some theological concept, democratic ideas, right or left wing see what happens to you, be open to the honesty that comes when one observes there attachments? When you are attached there is no room or freedom to examine and discover for one self. Authority especially in the world of the mind heart and brain, to follow someone. Geological or theoretical concepts given by some Asiatic, Hindu guru or Marx, so if you accept that or follow that mentally, in your actions that is the very basis of authority and corruption. Do we see this together? Not just intellectually, verbally but one has to be careful in there explanations one has to be very clear but to do it, too see the consequences, seeing how this attachment has divided the world into chaos. What we are saying is it possible to be a light to one self and not the light of another? Because our brain has been trained and evolved in the acceptance of authority. We are talking about not only the outward authority which is necessary but the psychological authority and the so called spiritual authority. We have become slaves to that authority, which means that we are controlled shaped connived at by those who say we know we have a gain, we will tell you what to do and follow us we will lead you to heaven. We will save you from your sins and all that business that go on in the world. Such a mind that is committed and attached can never be free, without freedom one can never find out what truth is. So can we listen to this fact because we cannot stand by ourselves? We always want to lean on somebody whether it is the husband or the wife, priest, therapist, psychologist, guru, mother father and so on. We think by leaning seeking comfort from another our brains have depended on the authority of the spirit. Please do pay a little attention to this if you are at-all serious about this.
