Day 2 Ed and I met with the Dr. The plan is for salvage chemotherapy with the addition of an experimental drug Cladribine. The dr said that he sees about 60-70% succes with thia regimen. He will be in the hospital for 5 days, barring any unforseen issues...please pray that there are none. Once he is released, he will have lab work 3x per week for 4 weeks The Dr said he would get platelets and prbc in the clinic. If he gets an infection, he will be admitted. At the end of the 4 weeks, they will do another bone marrow biopsy to check for remission. Once he achieves remission, he will under go a stem cell transplant . The transplant team will meet with him while he is in the hospital getting chemotherapy. At that time, they will give us information about how to get his sister and children swabbed to see if they are a match. So, Ed will be here in Houston almost 4 months I cant thank everyone enough for all the prayers. I am very humbled by everyones support. I know God can heal Ed and work miracles. Ive seen the miracles before . The plan for tomorrow is lab work @ 0630, echo @ 0800, then see the Dr . If all goes well, probably be admitted to start treatment. Please pray for the staff that will care for Ed as he starts chemo and please pray for no serious side effects or complications from the chemo. Please also pray for Ed as he begins this phase of his journey. Tina
