Day 2: I am thankful that my daughter has inherited my love for music. I was the proud mama bear today when Anna was asked to cantor at mass today. She did a wonderful job with her beautiful voice. I am thankful also to be a proud supporter of Mr. Todd Peterson and the chorus at #BarronCollierHighSchool. Those outside of #Naples may not be aware that the ACLU has threatened suits against the school if the chorus continues to hold its annual concerts at Moorings Presbyterian Church. I am so disappointed that someone found it necessary to bring the ACLU in to take such an extreme measure simply because of the concert venue. It is so sad that people are now so easily offended by everything. It is so disheartening that Todd is being so terribly criticized for wanting to choose the superior acoustics of that venue over political correctness. A year or so ago I had the amazing opportunity to sing with Todd Peterson and can say that the school and the district are very fortunate to have such a talented and generous musical director guiding their students. It is truly a shame that neither has chosen to support him. So I use my day of thanks to be thankful also for #ToddPeterson and the gift of music that he brought to my life and brings to others. I stand in solidarity with you.
