Day 2: Landed at Paro International Airport in Bhutan. The - TopicsExpress

Day 2: Landed at Paro International Airport in Bhutan. The terminal is awesome and it only has one conveyor belt. Our luggage was placed on top of the van which is different for most of us. The views are wonderful as you can see. Our tour guide is Harry and he speaks both Mandarin and English. There was a lot of rain prior to our arrival so lots of boulders fell onto the road. Thankfully the roads were still passable. From the airport we travelled to the town of Thimpu, a one and half hour drive, and we had lunch. Food nothing to shout about so no photo. We then went to a weaving house. Then we visited this huge sitting Buddha which is 167 feet tall. Great views all round. The last few photos are a Tibetan stuppa and lastly the Tashichho Dzong which is part Buddhist monastry and also houses Bhutans civil govenment. We could only enter after 5pm when the civil servants have finished work. There is a temple within the site and is very colourful in its decor. Love it. Then at night the place is lit up. Thanks for following this post everyone. More on Day 3.
