Day 2 of the 5 day art share challenge that Steven DaLuz nominated me to participate in. In turn, I would like to ask Judith Brandon to share 3 works for 5. She creates many layered powerfully evocative landscapes that will blow your socks off. Today I would like to share these Details of 3 different paintings of the same lovely model I completed early this year. They are good examples of how I prefer to create portraits at the moment..physical likenesses barely indicated. I start with time spent with my models, photos taken, poses chosen, and from that, the start of an unplanned journey with paint. They each have similarities, an essence of E (the model), but the mark making inspired different directions that happened while I was painting. The mood, the colors chosen, are my focus these days to either achieve a *felt likeness*, and to even let that likeness go if necessary. My newest paintings...well... all that is being released to allow me to dive deeper into paint and what that can say.
