Day (4): Give us this day our daily bread... Today (Monday, November 4th), I am thankful for the abundance of bread...food of every kind that we have to enjoy. Having grown up on the farm in Eastern Oregon, I remember enjoying so many wonderful things that we harvested from the soil. My oldest brother raised tomatoes one summer that my parents marketed as far away as Burns. Luscious apricots, peaches, cherries and apples were grown along with strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. I have pictures of the garden where my mother grew vegetables such as cantaloupe, green beans, carrots, cucumbers, squash, corn and a host of other vegetables. I cannot imagine what the Garden of Eden must have been like for Adam & Eve! Surely GOD has been incredibly good to ...the children of men. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits; who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from ruin, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies; who FILLS YOUR MOUTH WITH GOOD THINGS SO THAT YOUR YOUTH IS RENEWED LIKE THE EAGLEs... (Psalm 103:2-5) Thank you, Father, for every good and perfect gift...for the daily bread that you provide. Help me to remember to share with others these awesome good things you have provided...in Jesus Name, Amen.
