Daylong district level livestock health awareness camp held at Anantnag ANANTNAG, NOVEMBER 29: A daylong District Level Livestock health awareness camp for prevention and control of economically important livestock disease of cattle with special emphasis on brucellosis and bird flu under central sponsored schemes assistance ASCAD was organized by department of Animal Husbandry Anantnag here today. District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone was the chief guest on the occasion and Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Anantnag Dr T.H Beg presided over the function. The camp was attended by over 200 farmers besides Public Representative Institutions (PRIs). The experts delivered lecture on various commonly confronted diseases of cattle and poultry and special emphasis were given on Brucellosis, Avian influenza (Bird flu) and Rabies. A documentary was displayed during the camp and printed material about various animal diseases was distributed among the farmers. The District Development Commissioner while addressing the function appreciated the role of Animal Husbandry Department about its socio-economic upliftment of rural masses particularly farmers and emphasized the need for holding such awareness camps. The farmers also appreciated the programme and hoped that more such programmes will be organised in future.
