Deadfall (2012) Plot: Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde star in this crime thriller about two siblings who go on the run after a botched heist. After robbing a casino in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Addison (Bana) and his younger sister Liza (Wilde) are speeding towards the Canadian border when their car crashes in the icy weather. As they attempt to escape from the scene, a passing policeman approaches them and Addison shoots him. Dividing the loot between them, the siblings split up and plan to meet again later. While standing alone on the roadside, Liza encounters ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), who has also had a run-in with the law, and he takes her to his mother June (Sissy Spacek) and father Chet (Kris Kristofferson)'s house. Meanwhile, having been contacted by Liza, Addison has already arrived at their house and has taken Jay's parents hostage. With Liza falling for Jay and the police closing in on her and brother, tensions rise and Addison's behaviour becomes increasingly dangerous... Review: Having not heard about this movie, I didn't really know what to expect from the thriller, but after the first 15 minutes, I was gripped to the screen. Eric Bana was excellent throughout the movie, along with the rest of the cast who made the storyline believable. I enjoyed the intense drama throughout the movie, but it does slow down when Eric Bana's sister is on screen, trying to become a better person after doing bad with her brother. The showdown at the end was great and I found the film to be quite unpredictable and original, although it did seem a bit like Fargo in some ways. Anyway, it's definitely worth a watch. Enjoyable! Round-Up: It's good to see Eric Bana back on screen, even though it's not a major blockbusters like Hulk or Troy. I've liked acting style since Chopper, which is a brilliant movie, and it's good to see him get respect in Hollywood. Other actors like Kris Kristofferson and Sissy Spacek, have great chemistry on screen along with Olivia Wilde and Charlie Hunnam, but it is Eric Bana who really stands out. The setting for the movie, which is in heavy snow throughout, was a great choice by the director but its a shame that the movie didn't make its money back. Budget: $6million Worldwide Gross: $595,000 (Deserved More) I recommend this movie to people who are into there drama/thrillers about a brother and sister who on the run after a robbery. 6/10
