Dear All I want to thank you all again for your interest and support for our PIC Festival. I thought you might like to know just how many people are being involved through your networking You have invited well over a 1,000 people. Over 2,000 people saw just one of the posts earlier this month with over 500 engaged about our event in just one week! I now have over 500 people and rising reserving tickets to attend the festival which is very encouraging. And what fantastic responds that is. Sadly with such an overwhelming support, there is also an element of negativity that is slowly creeping in to plant doubtful seeds in the minds of others. I had been informed by two pleople this week, that somebody from Wattisham has been discouraging people from attending the festival telling them not to bother as it will not happen because nothing is being organised and nothing is in place for a festival in August. I would like to assure you all, that this person is not in a position to comment on the running of the festival nor the preparation put in place for the event. He has nothing to do with the running of the festival whatsoever, so the rumours he is spreading are unfounded. He obviously has a hidden agenda and whatever it is, he is doing his best to undermine the huge work being put in place for the festival and to spoil it for us all. THE PIC FESTIVAL IS STILL GOING AHEAD ON THE 24TH AUGUST AS PLANNED! Here is a list of some of the things which are in place already: 5 fashion designers coming from New Zealand, Fiji and Solomon Islands and one from the UK. 3 huge marquees, stages and sound system are booked. 10 performing groups representing- Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa, Cook Islands, Kiribati, PNG, Tonga and Solomon Islands. Organisation for the island 7s match is being dealt with by the Rugby sub committee. Securing some sponsorships, accommodations, transports etc. Also having the support of all our Pacific Island High Commissions, Help for Heroes, Commonwelth Resounds, CMF UK, Ipswich YM, Fiji Airways, Tourism Fiji and CheekyTiki shows that they have trust in what we are doing. Yet this person seems to show no respect for any of them by his own action. The above list are in place not because of nothing is being done for the festival but because of months of hard work and lots of negotiations to make sure that the festival goes ahead as planned. Thank you again for your overwhelming support and I look forward to seeing you in August! Agnes Henson - Derby. Founder & Director
