Dear Big Girls, I want you to know that, yes, Big Girls Do Cry! They cry whenever someone makes pig sounds at them when they eat out, They cry whenever they have to order from the kiddie menu because they could never eat a normal portion in front of others, They cry when they have to pre-board a plane so that no one sees the stewardess get them a seat belt extender, They cry when the clerk at the department store kindly re-directs them to the plus sized section, even if you are there shopping for a gift for a friend They cry when the bar on the roller coaster ride wont fit over them, They cry when the size they normally wear no longer fits because the designer changed the sizes, previously an xl now a 3x, They cry when they go back for seconds at a buffet and someone calls them a lard ass, They cry when the beauty queen always gets the lead in the school play, They cry when they binge eat in secret, then throw up so they can eat more, They cry when they kindly say no thank you when someone offers them dinner when they really are hungry, They cry when the surgeon cuts away their stomach so they cant eat anymore and they still wake up fat, They cry when the IV is hooked up to their arm because this is the only way they can get nutrition now, They cry when despite their petite frame they still see themselves as fat when they look in the mirror, They cry when despite their best efforts to eat healthy and exercise they still cant lose/gain weight, They cry when no one else is around to see their tears, when no one else can see the cuts, bruises and scars of years of self abuse, when all hope is lost and despite their will to be beautiful, they cry when they see the way others look at them. I know because I am a big girl, and I do cry! I am advocating for all the big girls out there who feel that despite the love and kindness they show others, they are made to feel ugly and unwanted! All women regardless of their size, are beautiful. Just the way they are! The Big Girls Dont Cry Bikini Contest is for all women, young and old, all shapes and sizes! No one will be left out! I know there are thin girls who have never believed they could wear a bikini either, because despite their beauty, somewhere, someone made them feel that they were not good enough, thin enough or pretty enough! I may be a big girl, but I am finally proud to be exactly the way I am! I ask you all to share this event! Let us come together as women, and prove to the world that we are all beautiful, just the way we are! You dont have to be fat or thin to be a Big Girl you just need to find the courage to finally say I am a Big Girl and I dont want to Cry anymore! I am excited to be hosting this event!
