Dear Chico artists, arts lovers and arts supporters, Tuesday, December 16th is a big day for the Arts in Chico. We would like to see a show of community support for the Arts at the Dec. 16th City Council meeting where several Commissioners will be making a presentation sometime after 7:30 pm regarding the Council’s directive that we consider restructuring the Commission. Please click on the below link for the agenda item, background information, letter from the Commission to the Council, etc., so that you are up to speed on what we are proposing. chico-ca.granicus/MetaViewer.php?view_id=2&event_id=94&meta_id=42928 If you would like to speak on behalf of the Arts, we ask that you keep it brief and on point, that you share your own unique perspective about why the City should reinvest in support for the Arts, or perhaps how your community organization may have been impacted by the lack of funding in this current fiscal year. We ask that you please NOT bash the Council for past decisions as this is a new council and a new day with new opportunities, and we also ask that you not speak to points already made by others for the sake of time management. We ask that you stay focused on the future and on the positive aspects of what the Arts can contribute to the recovery of Chico and its economy. Thank you in advance for your support!
