Dear Chipotle Mexican Grill I snapped today at your stores - TopicsExpress

Dear Chipotle Mexican Grill I snapped today at your stores doing. While at a store I visit frequently in San Luis Obispo the worker failed to rap my burrito with one sheet of tin foil. I witnessed this after I told the other worker who didnt charge me for guacamole that my burrito had guacamole in it. I told the worker that I didnt need another sheet of tin foil as they picked up a sheet to re-wrap the burrito. There were 0 people in line behind me. They ignored my request and continued to re-wrap the burrito stating rudely it is company policy and that they like their job. Here are some suggestions on a couple things about your company policy that you should change, since I know you are trying to market yourself as a company who cares about the planet. I have seen your signs prominently stating that you recycle bottles and cans when Im guessing every 1/50 customers buys a bottle or canned beverage from you. Bravo. 1. I dont automatically need a bag on a to go order. I usually order a bowl and take it to go. The first three times I tried to explain to a worker that I didnt need the aluminum foil you put on top of the to-go bowl or to have it then put in a paper bag. Chaos ensued in the assembly line. I decided to tell all workers my bowls were for there so that a lid and bag were avoided. 2. Re-Wrapping Burritos I was shocked that the worker was so intent on this. IF I say that the failed one sheet of foil wrap job is fine just give me my burrito. 3. Recycling Tin Foil Here is the bases of my anger towards this situation. I know that used tin foil with food on it IS recyclable in Slo County. I know that there may be a lot of places around the country where recycling tin foil with food on it isnt recyclable. Im no mathematician but a TON of tin foil could be recycled in Slo County if you allowed it to be and I am sure there are many other places around the country that also accept tin foil with food on it. I guess 1-5 people have a burrito with tin foil and all of them discard the foil in the trash at your stores. The bag company policy is a very easy fix. I wrote this in about 7 minutes so apologize if its not the best rant you have ever received. But I have to go work now on figuring out how to educate our youth so that when they were the one working at a place like chipotle they would hand me the poorly single aluminum foil wrapped burrito if I asked them to and not automatically put my order in a bag because more than them liking their job they like their planet. Sincerely, Former loyal customer. Mr. Eco
