Dear College Students not from MC (especially the ones who have campuses in Katipunan), Before you judge us and look down on us, please do a few things first: 1. Make sure no one, especially the girls in your schools (since you always say stuff like dont do this cause youre in an all girls school), do things you judge us for doing (Some very popular examples are smoking and cursing) in their school IDs. Lets be real here: Are you judging us because were smoking/cursing, or is it because were MC STUDENTS smoking/cursing? Because I dont really notice anyone complaining about how LIBERAL the culture your universities have. Why should ours be an exception? 2. Before you generalize us as the school where people who failed entrance exams/where stupid girls end up in, please make sure your school is the type that does not allow linakad or na-back door students. Many of these people are no where near qualified to be in the universities, but still get in. The only thing that got them in your prestige campus was because of their name/connections; not exactly because they reached the high standards of your school. Now that we got that cleared up... To My Fellow MC Students, Its really irritating how a lot of you care so much about the opinions different schools have, especially from the big universities. Ladies, people will only step on you if you allow them. Ill admit I used to be so conscious when I walk around Katip in my uniform because I feel a lot of people from UP and Ateneo judging me. But guess what? I learned not to generalize. There are people from these colleges who can be friendly to us, and there are those who cant. Why would we need the approval of the shallow and narrow-minded people who obviously have no clue how great MC students can be? Im so sick of the idea that we have to please the big schools. If they dont wanna be associated with us, then so be it. Thats less superficial people we have to deal with in our already stressful lives. Disclaimer: Im not encouraging MC people to smoke or curse in their uniforms. All Im saying is maybe we should stop caring about how other schools see us, and actually look with our own eyes to see whats great about us and what can still be improved.
