Dear DBAs, Got few questions on DBCC CHECKDB... What kind of DBCC CHECKDB is executed against the databases when sql services come up ? I am asking because it takes fraction of time than what DBCC CHECKDB with PHYSICAL_OPTION would take for any huge database. Paul Randal sir mentioned in one of his articles on CHECKDB DBCC CHECKDB again to use database snapshots to get the consistent view of the database (as a database snapshot automatically provides a transactionally-consistent, point-in-time view of the database) - So if there is a purge job in execution when DBCC CHECKDB is executed - database snapshot creation will fail as long as mentioned job is running because snapshot wont be able to be in transactionally-consistent state with database ? How much bad it is to schedule backup and DBCC CHECKDB (full check) to run at same time ? Another option is to run DBCC when purge job is in progress - Strctly NO. Need to somehow run CHECKDB - Shorter maintenance window and huge databases... Thank you in advance for your time !
