Dear Dancers of Lunar Delight, It was no surprise to wake to - TopicsExpress

Dear Dancers of Lunar Delight, It was no surprise to wake to the gentle, persistent, cleansing rain this morning with the air mingling the breath of plants and just a trace of the saltiness of the sigh of the sea...water underfoot and water in the air...water, water everywhere... My Native American teacher reminds us with his reverence and deep, deep gratitude for the Water of Life that water is the most powerful vehicle for prayer...water in the warm mists of our very breath carrying the information up, up to inform the clouds, that they may pour these raindrops of intention and gratitude down upon the thirsty earth, so that the plants may grow these prayers in our food and the food for all the herbivores, that the rivers will fill the aquifers and the eventually the great oceans so that the sun can again create the vapors that again will carry our prayers to reach the clouds... Welcome to the Full Moon in the water of Pisces that reaches its fullest after midnight tonight! It is also the 3rd and final of the Super Moons this year. There is much to work with in this Moons energy, the gifts (if our intentions are pure) will be a possibility of very deep journeying for healing through cleansing in crystal clear waters with a warning that there is a possibility for toxicity or pollution if we are not careful to keep ourselves balanced in our approach (Chiron, the Wounded Healer - the Centaur who managed to break away from his Centaur nature for revelry and excess) . There is much folklore and fable about this 7th Moon of the zodiac and it it often referred to as the Full Hare Moon and the Harvest Moon in the northern hemisphere as it is the first time of the year that they get to see the whole of the hare or white rabbit in the moon...I fould some lovely writings which I will paste a few of below for food for your imagination...I was definitely struck by the idea of the purity of our selfless offering for others that comes through and the stories from all over the globe even right here in Khoisan mythology about the rabbit and the moon and healing elixirs of life. So come join a cleansing deep water dance and tune into your own healing or your prayers for healing for those in need...lets dance in balance and harmony and together create a pollution busting clear pool of wholeness and light. Hope to meet you embodied in your uniqueness on the dancefloor... At the end of this mail is an invitation to a special event and ceremony at Cathedral Rock Keurboomstrand on Friday too! In the Buddhist Śaśajâtaka (Jataka Tale 316),[3] a monkey, an otter, a jackal, and a rabbit resolved to practice charity on the day of the full Moon (Uposatha), believing a demonstration of great virtue would earn a great reward. When an old man begged for food, the monkey gathered fruits from the trees and the otter collected fish, while the jackal wrongfully pilfered a lizard and a pot of milk-curd. The rabbit, who knew only how to gather grass, instead offered its own body, throwing itself into a fire the man had built. The rabbit, however, was not burnt. The old man revealed himself to be Śakra and, touched by the rabbits virtue, drew the likeness of the rabbit on the Moon for all to see. It is said the lunar image is still draped in the smoke that rose when the rabbit cast itself into the fire. A version of this story can be found in the Japanese anthology Konjaku Monogatarishū, where the rabbits companions are a fox and a monkey. Similar legends occur in Mexican folklore, where people also identified the markings on the Moon as a rabbit. According to an Aztec legend, the godQuetzalcoatl, then living on Earth as a man, started on a journey and, after walking for a long time, became hungry and tired. With no food or water around, he thought he would die. Then a rabbit grazing nearby offered herself as food to save his life. Quetzalcoatl, moved by the rabbits noble offering, elevated her to the Moon, then lowered her back to Earth and told her, You may be just a rabbit, but everyone will remember you; there is your image in light, for all people and for all times.
