Dear Facebook Friends, Heres whats happening at River of Life this Sunday! Below is the text and order of worship for Sunday. I will be back in the pulpit this week and I am so thankful to our Great Physician for His healing and to you for your prayers and encouragement. I am now at the point where I am no longer using a crutch, but a cane! This week’s message is a challenging one. It will ask us the question “Who’s Ambassadors are we?” The truth is we are always representing someone. As believers, we want our lives to represent our King – the Lord Jesus Christ! We’ll look a bit at how well we’re doing with that, and how we can better represent Him. Please pray for clarity in the preaching and a focus on the Gospel even as we think about our obedience to Jesus Christ. Pray for our worship team (Thom, Stephen, Terrie, Brian, and me) as we lead the congregation in worship. Pray for Gene and Curtis and they handle the mix and the power points. We really do need your prayers.. It is easy to be distracted by technical issues etc. when we are supporting the congregation in worship. We need focus, humility, and joy as we take on this vital task. Kristy will be joining us again singing soprano again this week. I am very thankful for her help these past three weeks! Please pray for Roy as he will be continuing his teaching in the Heidelberg. This has been a great class, and even though we are well into it, I would encourage you to come out at 9:30 and join us, as there is still much to learn! Please be praying for our Sunday school teachers (Gail, Rose & Jim) as they instruct our little ones and our jr./sr. highs. Pray with boldness, believing our God will work through all of us to bring glory to Himself!! Pray for those whose hearts are still stone, that the Lord would change them to flesh and we would see new lives created in the image of our Savior! Pray that the Lord would give us all a sense of anticipation – expectation as we gather for worship. We can expect our God to do great things as we worship and exalt Him! Benediction “Who’s Ambassador are you?” 2nd Corinthians 5:11-21 11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. 12 We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. 16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. By His Grace, Pastor Bill Slack “God made Him Who had no sin to become sin for us that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2nd Corinthians 5:21)
