Dear Facebook friends and relatives: even though I love you all just as much as if you were dear, cuddly pets, I really don’t want to know about your diseases and illnesses, be they real or imagined. If you are actually sick, you should talk to a medical professional. If you aren’t, you should complain to someone via the medium of telephone so that the person on the other end can pretend they’re listening while making soothing sounds and pruning their houseplants or doing something to their toenails. PS - If you happen to be sick right now, I’m genuinely sorry for you and this isn’t aimed at you, it’s just something I’ve felt like expressing for a while. There. I feel better already. I’m cured!
