Dear Family and Friends: After difficult and treacherous times, that started this July 1st, 2013, my beloved Mother was laid to rest yesterday, Tuesday September 3rd, 2013, in Salt Lake City, Utah. What began as the saddest chapter of my life so far, when my Dearest Mamita suffered from a devastating stroke that kept her in the Intensive Care Unit until her death, 54 days later, culminated as an uplifting remembrance of her wonderful life and legacy. It is incredible to see the lives touched by both, my Mother and my Father, through their Service, their love of God and Family, and their genuine care towards all mankind and nature. She is truly an example of service, tenacity, and dedication. A strong woman that taught me to respect myself and others, and to follow my dreams and passions, no matter how difficult they might be. A lover of music, she always played wonderful tunes at home. She was an avid dancer, and she really came to life whenever she had the chance for it. She had a great respect for all creatures and all forms of life. She was a complex woman, smart, witty, with a great sense of humor. She always kept herself really beautiful. She enjoyed reading, watching the news, and politics. She was informed, always had an opinion, and was never shy about expressing it. Her laughter, her hugs, her voice, and her phone calls will be truly missed. She is now in a better place, where there is neither suffering nor tears. She is and will always be my inspiration, my guiding light, and my fortress. I know she is watching over me and over my Dad, “Papito”, as well as my brother and sisters and her grandkids. Mother, as I told you yesterday, “you’re my Guardian Angel Mom Sitting on my shoulder Whispering your words of wisdom To use as I get older. I don’t want to say goodbye And we’ll meet again someday We’ll pick up where we left off Before you went away.” I love you so much, my Mom, my friend, my teacher, my confident, my fortress, my inspiration, my Eternal Love.
