Dear Friends, I share that Saritsa Foundation advocates and practices People Centered, people Led and People Owned process of disaster management by empowering communities with Life Saving Education for mitigation and making them resilient and safer. It believes that collaboration between communities and governments to integrate their initiatives for making the states and nations resilient is an important dimension of DRR. This connection helps governments and communities to become equal partners. It makes a shift in relationship between governments and citizens to resolve the problem where citizens remain government centric in their approach for disaster management. This change makes citizens self conscious to protect themselves at individual and family levels by becoming more aware and alert of their own actions by investing in Life Saving Education to be resilient and safer. It is unfortunate that citizens see themselves and their actions from other lenses then vouching for responsibility of protecting them in disasters by governments or God almighty.
