Dear Friends, I wish to go on a tour to Leh - Ladhakh next summer. Tentative date of departure would be somewhere in the first week of June from Delhi. I am in a position to provide a back up vehicle, which will be my commercially registered Innova with a driver who has toured that area extensively. This vehicle will serve as a back up, luggage van and to carry other supplies. I am looking at making a group of about 8 riders. Me and a close relative of mine are included in this figure. We are looking at a 14 N/ 15 Dy tour, something on the lines of the Great Himalayan Odyssey being oraganised on an annual basis by Royal Enfield itself. They charge approximately Rs 30000/= per rider for the same 14N/15D, whereas I have calculated the cost of the entire trip to be approximately 18 - 20 k per rider(for a group of 8), which includes back up vehicle, meals, accomodation. Please note I have taken into account Rs 10000/= worth of fuel for every bike considering it will be approx 3000 kms and that too in the hills. Here, I invite one and all to share their experiences, since many of you have done tours of this nature in the past and also, would like to take this opportunity to invite some fellow riders who share the same passion to join us. Now some of you might be wondering why I am I making this plan nearly 9 months in advance. Well, I think this is the time required to meet and know a few good people, probably have interactions with them so that they get to know me and vice versa. Request you to kindly provide me your very valuable inputs on this. Also, there may be a slight variation in the figures mentioned above in terms of costs but I am sure it wont be much. Moreover, if someone can chip in with a mechanic who can accompany us, that will be an added advantage. Looking forward to your comments gentlemen Regards Amit
