Dear Friends, No one was more disappointed than I was in the results of Tuesday’s special election in the 48th House of Delegates district. No one is more proud, however, of the talented and dedicated supporters who made my campaign possible. Although I will be personally contacting as many of you who helped me as possible in the days ahead, I want to tell you immediately how grateful I am for your efforts. So many people have told me since the polls closed what an energetic, issues-oriented, and high-class campaign we conducted. That is a reflection of the extraordinary team that rallied behind my candidacy and worked so hard to make it successful. We knew from the outset the challenging partisan realities in this district, yet we made our campaign visible and viable in just weeks. We stayed focused and positive, even in the face of withering attacks, and forced debate on the real issues confronting our district and our Commonwealth.
