Dear Friends, Way back in April 2008, my mother and I was interviewed by Paula Carlson who is the Editor of the Surrey Leader when I started Sher Vancouver. Sher at that time was a LGBTQ group for Sikhs in the lower mainland area. Sher is now an LGBTQ group for South Asians and their friends, families, and allies. This news article will now be part of an exhibition at City Hall during Pride Week in Surrey. Go check out the exhibition. Thanks to the City of Surrey and to Martin Rooney for making this happen. Happy Surrey Pride everyone. Slowly but surely Surrey is making progress on this front but we must always remain vigilent and continue to fight for our basic human rights for representation and equality in government. Thank you.
