Dear Heavenly Father, Several of our friends were married - TopicsExpress

Dear Heavenly Father, Several of our friends were married today... and as I spent time in prayer for them and their marriage, it caused me to reflect over my own marriage... The wedding took place before You Father, so long ago, was only a one day event; but it has grown into a marriage covenant that has endured over 28 years...one day at a time. Its very easy once married a long time, to take one another for granted, and to shift into a routine mode. Father God, I just want to thank You! I thank You for keeping my eyes open to all the good, pure, praiseworthy, of good report traits my husband possesses; and for the spiritual growth in his life! I thank You for blessing me with him! I still remember being a young 15 year old girl meeting Jim for the first time- looking into his eyes, seeing his soul, and knowing he was the one You had planned for me...the respect he shown me then is still the same he shows me still... I thank you Father God for my husband’s strengths! He is such a precious gift to me. Thank You for opening my eyes daily to the treasure he is; and for our marriage! Im sorry Lord for the times I have taken him for granted. I am so blessed Youve given me such an honorable, godly man who loves me and our children with all his heart., and loves you with all his heart, soul, and strength. I thank You because he loves You and worships you freely and openly. I thank You that he takes us to our Bible-teaching church, Cornerstone Fellowship Church weekly, and is a part of serving there with me. I thank You Lord that his faith is ever growing, that the eyes of his understanding is being enlightened more and more... He is so patient, kind, forgiving, loving, and full of mercy and grace... He can see the bigger picture when I can’t at times, and when I get frustrated, he is so emotionally and spiritually stable. He balances me, and compliments me. Oh, Father God!!! i love it that my husband is a man of his word and of integrity! I never have to wonder... I can always trust him! He loves me dearly...and he loves our children dearly, and provides well for us emotionally/spiritually/financially/physically! He has godly wisdom, and uses it when appropriate. Thank You Lord for teaching him and molding him. He is careful to make the best choices – he doesn’t rush into things foolishly. He is gentle, selfless and loving towards me – portraying the love of Christ in such a powerful way! He never lords his authority over me- never. I am safe with him and can trust him. Always. He is faithful to our marriage vows and considers our marriage a covenant before God. I am so blessed- and love him so!!! He has a very strong work ethic- has worked at the same place for 29 years... He is a hard, honest worker dear Lord! and, he is such a talented man...hes able to fix almost everything, from our vehicles, appliances, lawn mowers, he is always figuring out things! He is wonderful at finding good deals and he is responsible with money, and frugal too. He doesnt go out and blow money away frivolously, and he always honors You with our tithe, giving You back what is Yours. He is always ready to give our last dollar to someone in need, hes kind that way. He is trustworthy and responsible, always. I never have to worry if he might let me down, because he always does what he promises. Always. He is a man of his word. Thank You! He has such a refreshing sense of humor and doesn’t take himself too seriously- hes always laughing, joyful, content. He is affectionate towards me and our children-and towards all children. Father, use my husband and me to be a godly example of faith and marriage to our children. Let them vow to guard their heart Lord, and to give it only to the one they intend to marry. Help them to trust You and Your plan for their life dear God and to make serving You and being in Your Word and House a priority. Let them desire a godly marriage one day because they grew up in that environment Lord! Let us together represent Christ and His church well by Your Spirit at work in us. Let them see that we are united – and nothing can divide us. Let them see a beautiful example in us that they will always carry with them in their hearts and that they can use as a template to build their own healthy, godly marriages and families upon one day. Thank You dear Lord! Keep us all from temptation and evil. Thank You that You are not done with any of us, but that You are making us more and more set apart for Your use. Make us holy as You are holy. Let us be one with You. Let us be one with each other. Let our marriage draw many people to Christ and honor You in every possible way! In the Name and power of Christ, Amen!
