Dear KTRE Viewer: As you may know by now, KTRE may not be available on Dish Satellite after July 31st. We know this is frustrating. We share your frustration. Let us briefly explain what happened, what is likely to happen next and what you can do to make sure you don’t miss a minute of your favorite local news and weather and great ABC programs. In order for stations like KTRE to serve you, we need agreements with the cable and satellite companies that bring our signal into your home. We have such agreements in place with all the TV providers serving East Texas. Raycom Media the parent company of KTRE has been working for the past few months to resolve this matter, but Dish Satellite has refused to come to terms. It’s frustrating because all the other TV providers in our area honor their deals with us and those deals are fundamentally similar to the one we are requesting with Dish Satellite. KTRE values your viewership and the long relationship we have enjoyed here in East Texas. We are your first alert for breaking news and severe weather, a responsibility and trust we don’t take lightly. We are going to keep working to resolve this matter with Dish Satellite. But you don’t have to wait. The good news is you can take action. You can call Dish at 1-800-823-4929 and tell them you want KTRE on the system. Thank you for your viewership and support.
