Dear Kissing Fish, I want to thank you for your hard work. Im the - TopicsExpress

Dear Kissing Fish, I want to thank you for your hard work. Im the son of a non-denominational (self-proclaimed old fashioned) pastor. While he has been a loving father, he is very intolerant of views and lifestyles that are not similar to his. Im nearly 17, and Ive been like-minded to him for almost all of my life, but in the past couple years, I have been questioning my life and its structures, as teenagers do. While I acknowledge that I have only just scratched the surface of my true spirituality, I feel that through your facebook page (and your book Kissing Fish), I have been led to a larger truth than the one I believed I was living. I now identify as a progressive Christian, and Ive been researching and learning new ideas, concepts, and the like nearly everyday. My family has not been very accepting of this behavior, and Ive been having a very rough time coexisting with them. Lately its been worse, name-calling has started, and Ive been told that Im screwed up by my own family. However, your facebook page and constant fight against the intolerance and hatred that people preach at the world gives me hope and strength to go on in my new spiritual journey, and I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the encouragement to discover new things. Even though you dont know me, you have given me a nearly-infinite amount of determination and motivation to carry on. So thank you, sir. I look forward to seeing you speak at the Lion and Lamb Festival in August, as its only an hour and a half away from where I live! Thank you again, and please dont stop doing what youre doing, C.L.
