Dear Parents, The following message is forwarded on behalf of Mrs. J. Martin, CCS Board member and Nurse at Vidant Hospital. The Childrens Hospital administrator has asked for help to communicate to friends and families in the community about the actual location of the Childrens Emergency Department at Vidant. This is meant to educate our community. The campus can be quite confusing and hopefully this will save some time for families who might find themselves in an emergency situation with their child. The James and Connie Maynard Childrens Hospital has experienced an increase of families arriving through the main entrance of the Childrens Hospital seeking the Childrens Emergency Department. For the safety of our children, and to expedite the emergency care they may need, you will want to go to the Childrens Emergency Department entrance. The entrance of the Childrens Emergency Department is located near the main Emergency Department on Heart Drive, on the opposite side if the medical campus.
