Dear SVHS Community, St. Vincent de Paul High School will be closed tomorrow (Friday, December 12th). Both Novato and Petaluma public schools are also closed on Friday. While weather reports indicate that the North Bay is past the worst part of the storm, student safety remains our highest concern. St. Vincent High School is in a unique situation with many of our students traveling significant distances on the freeway in order to attend school each day. The continuing standing water on freeways and roadways as well as the continued risk of flooding, specifically at the Marin-Sonoma County line, lead us to make this decision out of an abundance of caution. This decision was not made lightly, especially with final exams scheduled for next week. Students are strongly encouraged to use tomorrow as a preparation day. Monday, December 15th will be the scheduled A day and will be our final opportunity to review for final exams. Teachers will be available via email and will be posting any necessary review materials on line. You will receive another message tomorrow regarding the drama performance of Dorothy in Wonderland. It is possible that improving weather and travel conditions may permit an evening performance. Athletic practices will be cancelled tomorrow. Coaches will contact their players regarding scheduled games, which could also possibly transpire with improving conditions. Principal John Walker
