Dear Scotland, I hoped I wouldnt have to write this but its all - TopicsExpress

Dear Scotland, I hoped I wouldnt have to write this but its all too clear were coming to the end of our time together and I think its best to part friends. You came close to leaving a few years back but times were harder then and it made more sense financially for us to stay together. While things have got better in terms of money weve grown yet further apart and youve had your eye on the door for quite a while. You know what though, thats ok. I mean, it was a shotgun wedding to start off with and lets face it our families never really got along but we were next door to each other and well getting together was just what you did in those days. Yes I know we took the piss with the skirt thing and the accent but that was always just a bit of fun, on our part anyway. You were always pretty shrewd with the family accounts and when there was trouble you were nearly always amongst the first to get stuck in. We always appreciated you even if sometimes we didnt show it. That is the past though, weve been good together and been good for each other but we have grown apart and have want different things now. I like to think we can stay on friendly terms for the sake of the children. I would ask that you dont bring anyone into our, albeit, extended family without thinking of the impact that could have on the rest of us. I never understood your relationship with the French, Christ it must have been bad for you to turn to them. I never really got the impression that they loved you. It felt that they were only using you to get at me but I as I say, thats not my worry now, just look out for yourself. Well always be there for each other and having looked at the family assets you get North Sea Oil and Gas, we keep London so neither of us have done too badly and as long as were both sensible we should both be ok. Ill let you know about the pound, I mean yes you can still use the name but still being a signatory on the family account...well have to see. I see Liz wont take sides, shes a wise old girl and while her family do have problems, I mean no one is sure about her eldest, please think long and hard before cutting them out of the picture completely. I know itll be easier when she goes to get shot of them but all the same, theyve nearly always tried their best by all of us and after all who wants Balmoral anyway? Anyway I know theres still a couple of weeks before you have to make up your mind but I wanted you to know that whatever you do Ill always love and respect you. Try to remember the good times and not dwell to much on the bad. Oh about the CDs please, no really please, keep the Runrig, Big Country and Proclaimers, well keep the Bowie, The Beatles and the Stones...That seems fair. So all the best and hope to see you soon. Love always, England
