Dear Soldiers and Families, Attached you will find the High School Senior and Military Spouse Applications for the 2013-2014 Fort Hood Area Military Family Member Scholarship Fund (FHAMFMSF). Please disseminate where possible in order to inform potential applicants of this valuable opportunity. The attached applications include details on new eligibility and application requirements, as well as the student data information pages, the application pages, and a reference form to be duplicated and completed by three references. These documents have been completely revised from previous years; therefore, please suggest to applicants to review eligibility and requirements closely. One important change this year is that the Scholarship Fund will not be awarding scholarships to dependent child college students. PLEASE NOTE: Completed applications must be postmarked no later than 5 March 2014. Additionally, I have attached a Scholarship Fund Fact Sheet for your quick reference. Our board is proud to state that last year, 51 high school students, college-age dependents and spouses were awarded a total of $58,750. The awardees included 35 high school students receiving a total of $40,000, and 16 spouses and college-age dependents receiving a total of $18,750. The majority of these donations came from Fort Hood organizations to include the Thrift Shop and Officer Spouses Club, in addition to local businesses, civic organizations and individuals who have been very generous in their support.
