Dear Sponsor, On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like - TopicsExpress

Dear Sponsor, On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your continued and generous support of The Geshe Tsulga Non-Profit Corporation for Sera Je House #2A Monks and Affiliates, Inc. Because of your generosity, Geshe Tsulga’s vision of a corporation that provides for the educational and physical needs of his monks, nuns, refugees and affiliates worldwide continues to grow. In 2013 the total amount of donations sent to Sera totaled $34,910. Thank you for your overwhelming generosity! It was Geshe-la’s instruction that all expenses related to the operation of this corporation, including administrative, legal, and even PayPal charges, be covered by the officers and board members, or raised separately. I am happy to report that with the generous donations of our sponsors, along with the Board of Directors contributions, all of our operating expenses for 2013 have been covered. Because of special requests, such as funds needed to meet emergency medical, or additional offerings made toward a Geshe Ceremony or any number of things we quickly realized that transferring funds once a year simply was not enough. To ensure that donations were getting where they needed to be we created a schedule of transferring funds twice a year. (Please know that under special circumstances we will transfer funds more often, but this does become expensive.) To help avoid confusion we send out an annual donation reminder letter from the Board in the fall and a summer notice. The Summer Notice is merely to inform you that we are transferring funds and offer you an opportunity to send additional funds if you so desire or know of a particular need. This caused a little confusion at first but I believe the kinks have been worked out and the new system is running well. If you have any questions about this please feel free to contact me or any of the Board members. At our annual Board of Directors meeting this year the Board recognized Andrea Judge, our treasurer, for all of her hard work and dedication. Hers is, by far, the most demanding and time consuming position on the Board. It is a big task keeping up with all of the donations coming in and then ensuring they get to the right person. The Board would also like to thank Venerable Geshe Ngawang Tenley for his invaluable assistance with translation and communication with those at Sera. This past year it came to the attention of one of our sponsors, that the water system at Sera was no longer potable. Monks told him that many were getting sick and so they had to purchase clean drinking water by the bottle. To remedy the situation, the sponsor paid for a water purification system, (the professional installation, salt and maintenance too) so that everyone at House 2A could have a dependable, affordable source of clean water. Additionally, he paid for a battery backup system so that the monks would not have to deal with the daily power outages. We would like to extend our wholehearted thanks to this sponsor’s generous donations. The impact his contributions have made to the monks at House 2A have greatly eased the difficulties of daily life. Requests from the Board. Volunteers are needed. As a Board one of our most important tasks is to raise awareness of the needs at House 2A and to educate people on how they can help. To do this we would like to make improvements to our website, and develop additional means to reach new sponsors. If you have skills in graphics and marketing and would like to help out please contact me with your ideas or suggestions. So now it is once again time to make your tax-deductible annual sponsorship donation. Full sponsorship is $200 annually, though any amount is greatly appreciated. If you have already sent your donation for 2014, thank you. For your convenience we can accept your donation on our website via PayPal (again, the full amount of your PayPal donation goes to your monk, nun, or child - unless you include it with your donation, the Board will cover the transaction cost). If you have a specific monk, nun or child that you support, please be sure to note their name. We can be found at: geshetsulga/ geshetsulga/donationsponsorship.html Or, you may send your check to: The Geshe Tsulga Non-Profit Corporation 409 Scotts Ridge Trail Apex, NC 27502 Thanks again for your generous donations. We look forward to another successful year. With kind regards, William Judge
