Dear TRS readers, I have previously wrote some opinion pieces for The Real Singapore (TRS) such as “A YOUNG SINGAPOREAN MUSLIM: I AM NOW AGAINST CIRCUMCISION” as well as I AM A MUSLIM AND I AM NOT THAT OFFENDED regarding the Alvivi Bak Kut Teh saga. Though I was born into a loving muslim family and was given the standard Islamic teaching, the extreme negative responses that these op piece, and some death threats as well according to the TRS team, had led me to question my faith. Why would muslims who follow the teaching of Islam react so vilely?
