Dear The Caucasian West, Let me respectfully give you a little - TopicsExpress

Dear The Caucasian West, Let me respectfully give you a little history lesson on violence, rioting, and looting because yall seem to have forgotten we learned this from YOU. It was white people who looted black churches, burned black towns and churches to the ground, and rioted when they were unhappy with passage of civil rights laws. It was white people who beat us senseless at restaurants and lunch counters when we peacefully tried to break down Separate but equal. It was white people who terrorized, spit on, and hit the black children in Little Rock when they were integrating public schools. It was white people who MURDERED our civil rights heroes like MLK and JFK to silence them and derail the fight for our civil rights. It was white people who lynched black men and killed Emmett Till for so much as looking at a white woman. You see violence is ok when YOU dont get what you want, rioting is fine when YOU dont like the law or rules, YOU kill and assassinate leaders who dont support your agenda. So please miss me with all your hypocritical condemnation of Ferguson right now. YOU also have a sordid history of rioting, looting, and burning things down when things arent going your way. The majority of you will deem that none of the past has anything to do with the present, and your youth and privilege keeps you from seeing that this connects to HUMAN rights, but in order to fight for humanity, we must identify the struggle of the INDIVIDUAL. As an Egyptian, I am pained to see the acquittal today of Husni Mubarak, because the powers that be, the economic strongholds, they set their own rules you see. The lives of Africans are worth nothing in the eyes of those who exploit our resources. Recognize the pain and the mistakes of the past and learn from them. It was not so very long ago that your indifference will not allow it to return...
