Dear everyone who supported and believed in Costa Rica. Thank you because our team deserved it. Beyond the incredible skill and passion, above all they showed the world what humility in sports looks like. While we didnt win, because FIFA is more corrupt than most politicians; we fought the good fight. Netherlands beat us due to better acting and slipping the right amount of Euros in the right amount of pockets to lessen their red card chances and increase the lack of calls on their obvious lack of sportsmanship. Not because they were a better team. Our boys were cautious, calculating and reserved as to not risk getting struck with penalties from referee euro-bags. The Dutch tried (and succeeded in some respects) in being vicious to injure our stars, but cheap shots and foul play, a winner makes not. Costa Rica leaves without a trophy but as champions for being the better team in talent, heart and integrity. To all my Ticos. There are more opportunities to show the world what brilliance our country truly stands for. Pura Vida!
