December 20 is a crowded day on the Recent Maccashowhistory Calendar!! On this date, 2009 -- Paul in Dublin, one of the most intense crowds I have ever been a part of! Open floor, leaning right on the rail with a bunch of fellow Fans On The Run, original Wings member Henry McCullough in the audience, and partying at the hotel afterparty! A year later to the day, Macca in Liverpool at the jam-packed tiny Academy - after a day standing in the ice covered streets with fellow FOTR, watching ladies pouring hot tea on their feet to try and warm up a bit - intense hometown crowd, opened with Honey Hush, got Hitchhike, too and a killer, emotional Dont Let The Sun Catch You Crying and then hearing I Saw Her Standing There in the encore, in Liverpool, leaning on the stage. A photo, with me right up front is used on the PM website for this show. Killer Bee. Then the next year, we were all back in Liverpool [my favorite prepositional phrase.....in Liverpool] for another massive show at the O2, again with a big batch of FOTR wrapping up that years On The Run shows - with thick snow confetti falling during Wonderful Christmastime and a stage full of bagpipes for Mull of Kintyre. It is looking rather unlikely for Xmas shows this year......but I am ready to run in 2015!
