December 31st. Grandma is resting peacefully for the most part today. We were told by a nurse that she is nearing her time because of the dehydration signs, her breathing is shallow, her swollen skin is shifting, and she is sleeping even more. However, I dont think anyone has told this to my Grandma!!! She surprises us a couple of times an hour as she opens her eyes, and calls out the names of those she sees in the room or just says thank you thank you, thank you!! She has blurted out phrases such as I love you all and Happy New Year. She is definitely showing us how to be gracious and grateful no matter what!! The staff at the Regency gave us a private room to support all of her loved ones. I dont think they understand the Silvagi way by celebrating Grandmas life and being with her as she slowly follows her path. Her care is excellent. We are all bracing ourselves for the inevitable. Continue prayers as she attempts to make her goal of seeing the ball drop tonight!!!
