Decided to go to Blackpool today. Do a bit of promo for the label and flog a few singles. Apart from meeting up with Shaun & Jodie of TOTAL BLOODY CHAOS, Victoria & Steve of Viki Vortex & T.C.S, a brief meeting with Steve Contempt and a good chat with Kevin Barber I have to admit that Im shocked and saddened on two points: 1. The amount of people who DONT own a record player 2. The number of people not prepared to part with £4 for an 8-band E.P. yet have new t-shirts, merch etc and have enough drink with them to kill an army. What happened to the D.I.Y. idea ? What happened to the supporting of independent bands/labels trying to get their music heard ? Seems it got stamped on by a corporate punk festival. On a plus point, I did meet some genuinely great people who are into what O.D. RECORDS is trying to achieve and hopefully there will be some future collaborations.
