Definitely had my first really, really bad day... had a moment where grief hit me like a ton of bricks... And also Ive been worried about Shadow; he is acting so strange, so lost, so puzzled... He and I lived with Jean for 2 yrs and he grew to love her very much and her illness and dying caused him obvious anxiety. The house was crawling with dear friends and family almost non stop for over 3 weeks (and some friends brought their dogs too) and Shadow loves people and now the house is quieter and he is acting like he lost the herd. Its the German Shepherd in him... Ive been giving him special attention and treats but he is apathetic and lethargic. Tonight some friends and I are going for a walk on the beach and maybe chasing some sea gulls will perk him up! His sensitivity is a source of constant wonder to me. Someone said boy, if he loses YOU, Maureen, hell surely die. For all that he loved Jean, he loves me all the more. It worries me. His devotion and love is the stuff of legends.
