Department of Social Services Job Announcement Staff Training and Development Coordinator Human Resource Center The Human Resource Center of the Department of Social Services is seeking applicants for a Staff Training and Development Coordinator position located in Jefferson City. The major duties include; coordination, evaluation and oversight of an effective, comprehensive statewide training program for department staff; design, development, scheduling and delivery of staff development training programs; and supervision of two Training Technicians. Other responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of human resource initiatives; establishing and interpreting training policies and procedures; formulating recommendations that provide effective staff training and professional development; and ensuring department compliance with the Management Training Rule. Work also includes identifying training needs, establishing priorities and directing or coordinating training efforts with agency officials, facility personnel, community organizations and other agencies. The individual in this position will be expected to have excellent written and oral communication skills and experience and knowledge of training methods and techniques. Experience with on-line training development, deployment and implementation is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of professional experience in mental or public health, social services, education, training, nursing, business or public administration or closely related work of which two years must have been in the special qualifying areas described below; and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in the behavioral or social sciences, public health, education, nursing, business or public administration or closely related area. (Graduate work in any of the academic specialties indicated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the stated general experience.) Areas of Qualifying Work Experience: 1. Advanced professional experience in the design, development or evaluation of training and development programs (at the level of Training Technician II). 2. Professional supervisory (above first supervisory level), administrative or consultative experience in the Uniform Classification and Pay System in activities directly related to areas for which training in that agency is to be provided.
