Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine was a husband and a doting father of three who made a dramatic career change when he left the banking industry and pinned a badge to his pocket. His killer was a wanted man, a felon and, according to detectives, the prime suspect in a series of vehicle burglaries. His end of watch occurred in the early hours of February 11, 2014, while responding to a call. He took two bullets in his bulletproof vest but the fatal bullet hit him in the underarm.
