Derek Gravett . Feedback regarding last nights shooting. We confirm that the Scottburgh SAPS Detective Service is investigating a case of attempted murder following the alleged shooting of a woman at 19:40yesterday, 2 September, near the Wimpy at the Scottburgh main beach. It is alleged that the man then turned the gun on himself. Both husband and wife were rushed to the G.J.Crookes Hospital in Scottburgh with gunshot wounds. The couple, believed to be in their thirties, work in Port Shepstone. The motive for the shooting is yet to be established. The husband sustained a single gunshot wound to the head while the wife was shot in the face and torso. The firearm, which is licensed to the husband, has been seized and will be subjected to ballistics tests. Investigations continue. (The suspect may not be named therefore, both names are being withheld).
