Despite my reluctance to accept advertising slogans at face value, soup *is* good food. For lunch, I made it Progresso. For dinner, Im making it myself. This is my first soup in a long while and, unusually for me, its a chicken stock from scratch then stew sorta thing. {My usual fare tends more to cream of garden vegetable, a hearty, filling wowser that warms both body and soul.} Still, how difficult can it be? You chop up stuff, season, cover with water, boil, simmer, strain, section, sauté, stew, and serve. Its a bowl of cake...so to speak.
