Devotion: Divine Upgrade Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power:who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Three critical facts were crystalized in the above scripture. 1) Before Jesus came to earth he didnt need to be anointed with the Holyghost and with power, for if he were it wouldnt have been necessary to have him re-anointed. 2) If this anointing were to be something you can afford to do without, God wouldnt have bothered himself and this scripture wouldnt have occupied relevant space in the bible. 3) The things he do could after he received the anointing were way beyond both his ability and capacity before the anointing came on him. Its pertinent for us to understand that the fall of man brought death to the entirety of man (spirit, soul and body) note: -) When am fell he didnt just fall from Dominon but he fell into destruction. -) Salvation is in three phases, our spirit have been saved, our mind is being saved while our body will be saved. When we received Jesus into our hearts the only part of man that was perfectly reinstated to its formal position before the fall is the spirit, which has been saved. But the other parts of man are still staggering, in the sense that they are no longer in sin but they are still not yet perfect. This posed a strong limitation to the believer as regards his rightful ability and capacity. Jesus came as an example of what a totally perfect man can do, he walked on water, spoke to inanimate things, healed all manner of sickness, raised the dead e.t.c but the disciples found most of Jesuss acts impossible in the sense that even when they tried it still wasnt possible. However, God in his infinite wisdom thought about how to get man to function optimally with the limitations of both the flesh and the mind in view, he came up with an amazing solution and called it THE ANOINTING. what this does is that when it comes on you it acts as boaster and immediately upgrades your faculties such that you begin to see and hear like God himself, imparts faith into your spirit, when you issue instructions satan hears it as though its God speaking, you take deadly things they become nutrients, you come in contact with disease and they die, you lay hands on the sick they instantly recover, what you use to fear becomes afraid of you, WHAT A LIFE? At this point nothing is impossible. This upgrade was soo vital he warned his disciples what Ive thought alone cant deliver the task optimally, you need something more than just teaching he said wait until you be endured with power. Dont be over zealous and run out to ministry, work, school e.t.c without this upgrade, listen to the instruction of Jesus wait/spend quality time in the place of prayer and be upgraded, never function without it youll be shortchanging yourself.
