Diary of a Roadie is back for 2015!!! After a few years of focusing on doing my job, I decided enough of that, lets bring back some behind the scenes fun. First up, Club Tavern in Middleton. Lets roll... 4:00am (Pacific Time) Wake up in San Diego. 6:44am (PST) Catch flight to Chicago. 1:05pm (CST) Arrive in Chicago...wait...wrong city... 1:15pm After hustling through airport, catch flight to Milwaukee. 2:27pm Arrive in MKE (City 3 of 6 for today) 3:00pm Catch ride from mom & dad roadie to Oak Creek to kill an hour and also some carbs for later. 4:05pm Hit the road to fortress Zettle to meet Dave and the Trash. 5:15pm Trailer packed up and ready to roll. 5:30pm Mandatory stop at Kwick Trip. We really should have them as a sponsor. 5:40pm Dave calls Trash a name not safe for FB posting. 5:41pm Still exchanging name calling. Its like 2nd grade in the truck. 6:00pm Get the call that Johan and his assistant Teri sliced their hands open setting up the lighting. Both at the hospital for stiches. 6:52pm Arrive at Club Tavern to unload. 6:53pm Find Matt in a state if panic to run sound and lights. 6:54pm Offer Matt a hug to calm him down. He declined. 8:45pm Finish sound check. House light guy Guy (thats his name) will run lights until Stumpy gets back. 9:45pm Show kicks off. Feels good after 3 weeks off. 10:45pm Johan Stumpy Joe and Teri return. He quickly turned down needing mouth to mouth. 11:15pm Set break. Turn stage over and discuss how new sings are going over. 11:45pm Dr. FEELGOOD! ! 1:20am Second set over. Show went very smooth, so not much to report. 2:07am On the road back to Waukesha. 2:11am Taco Bell stop. 2:44am Told Trash he was in charge of keeping Dave awake..I needed to recharge my batteries. 2:47am Trash decides he will keep Dave awake by talking to me. 3:40am Arrive back at Zettle compound. 4:45am pull into home base after a lot of loud singing, open windows, and determination. Tonight we do it again at the Roadhouse in Cedarburg..e join us...Im too tired to write any more. VV
