Did a cheese experiment yesterday. Ive been opposed to dairy - TopicsExpress

Did a cheese experiment yesterday. Ive been opposed to dairy consumption for many years for many reasons, but a couple of my raw & formerly vegan friends told me theyve incorporated some raw goats milk cheese into their diets and that it works for them. Before I went raw (for the most part) & vegan in 2005, I ate a lot of cheese. I had already been vegetarian for 23 years at that point & something with cheese was very often the vegetarian option wherever I went. Im sure I was also addicted to the casomorphin in cheese because it did numb me out & subvert my emotions. Later, I learned about the horrifying treatment of dairy cows and their newborn calves, who get tightly caged and become veal on a plate. And I learned about Monsantos toxic (carcinogenic) involvement in the industry. And I learned that dairy leeches calcium from the bones, making them weaker. (Just the opposite of what the dairy industry used to say about their product, but is no longer allowed to say.) And I learned that dairy creates an acidic condition in the body. And that its mucous-forming. Years ago, I had an opera singer PR client. She told me about the singers diet, which is no-dairy to keep the lungs free of mucous. But, given all this, I wanted to know for myself how I would feel if I tried a small amount of raw goat cheese from happy French goats, with vegetarian rennet. So, I bought 2.5 ounces from a friend who works at a gourmet cheese bar yesterday & I ate about half of it (1.25 ounces) last night. The taste was strong and not entirely pleasant. I kept thinking of suckling on the teat of a goat and wondering why I was doing it. It did bring back some memories of my cheesy days and I think it numbed me out a bit. The congestion in my lungs set in rather quickly. When I woke up this morning, I was still congested and I had a bad taste in my mouth, so I jumped out of bed to brush my teeth & saw that my face looked tired and puffy in the mirror. A friend called me and I found I had to keep clearing my throat during our conversation. And my face got itchy. And so did the abrasion on my arm. There was an uncomfortable deep itch that indicated to me a lack of harmony in my body. I was open to exploring this, but thats enough. Im no kid (baby goat). Goats milk wasnt made for me. Glad I checked it out, though. yumuniverse/addiction-to-cheese-is-real-thanks-to-casomorphins/
