Did you know what is a green building? A green building is constructed typically to maximise natural light and insulation, thereby minimising the need for artificial light or temperature control. They also use low-flow taps and include gray- water recycling and rain water harvesting facilities. It can cost 2% to 5% more to construct a green building. However, a green building offers substantial reductions in operational costs over life cycle of occupancy so the total cost of ownership of green buildings is actually lower than that of a conventional building.
