Dinner last night was a fantastic steak for me and gumbo for Christian at Bourbon Street Grille in downtown Dahlonega follwed by homemade beignets and chicory coffee - all out on the back deck with live music. This morning, after another scrummy breakfast at Cedar House Inn, we packed up and took a drive into the mountains through Clayton and Rabun Gap into Franklin, NC. We stopped at the Smoky Mountain Host Visitor Center. Chris picked up some AT stickers. The metal leaf is my treasure. It a metal coating over a real oak leaf. It is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of all the oak trees we saw on the AT.
